The panorama of Budapest with the Buda Castle is part of the UNESCO World Heritage. In case you want to see this from your room window, all you have to do is book a room on the bank of the Danube, in one of the large hotels. The highest level of luxury is offered by the hotel Four Seasons Gresham Palace, opposite the bridge that is often taken as a symbol of the city, the Lánchíd. South from here are Sofitel Budapest, Hotel Intercontinental and Budapest Marriott Hotel (few steps away from each other), offering five-star services. From the rooms of these hotels, you can enjoy a unique view of the riverbank, plus live in the inner city as well. If you want to look at the Danube from the Castle, Budapest Castle Hilton should be your choice. Budapest’s lively, exciting inner city also offers a selection of luxury hotels. Next to the theatres, on the main artery of the city, the Nagykörút, lies Grand Hotel Royal Budapest, and also the newest masterpiece from Boscolo, in the recently renovated New York Palace. Not far away, in the quiet, once aristocratic mansion district, you can find the Bauhaus-style Andrássy Hotel, along with one of the gastronomical temples of the city, Baraka restaurant. Although it has only 4 stars, ArtOtel, at the feet of Castle Hill earnt a place in this list, with rooms looking directly at the world-famous Parliament and the Danube.
Spa and wellness hotels
There are many hotels offering luxury services, which are built because one of Budapest’s main advantages: medical and thermal waters. Each of these hotels provide visitors with first-class wellness services, saunas, steam baths, pools, and a selection of beauty- and medical treatments. Grand Hotel Acquincum, Grand Hotel Margitsziget (situated on the city’s most beautiful island), Helia, and Grand Hotel Gellért (one of the most famous, although badly needing renovation) are the best examples of this category.

Budapest is one of the capitals of romantic trips. Walks on the banks of the Danube, small restaurants, mystical streets help making your visit an unforgettable experience. The city is home to so many small hotels, which, with their placement and design, are perfect for a romantic trip to Budapest. The former Jewish quarter has a number of this type – for example Hotel Pest, and Hotel Ambra. Immediately next to the Opera, is K+K Opera hotel, which is also a quiet corner of the theatre district. In one of the small streets in the heart of the inner city, is the tiny Hotel Art. In the green part of Buda, lies UHU Villa, where you can drink your morning coffee while the forest’s birds sing in the background. Also, the number of design hotels is increasing: such is one of the hotels of NH Hotels, situated next to one of the nicest theatres, or the Boutique Hotel Zara.
Tourist hotels
The widest range of hotels, of course, are offered for those looking for tourist and business hotels. Lots of 4 and 3 star hotels are available for comfortable accomodation, especially the bigger international brands (Accor), and the Hungarian ones (Hunguest Hotels, Danubius Hotels), but there is a number of independent hotels we can recommend as well. A full list can be found here.
